Weird Loch Ness Monster Facts

Weird Loch Ness monster facts and theories have circulated for years and fueled even more when the monster seems to have vanished for periods of time.

Some investigators thought the monster was extinct at the time it showed up last in 1970's.

There were many investigators who quit the search but some continued the search most notably the Phenomena Investigation Bureau. It's organizer maintained his belief in the existence of some unidentified creature in the Loch.

Possibilities of Loch



1 It could be a mammal such as a long necked seal.

2) A salamander or other long tailed amphibian.

3) A fish, possibly a giant eel.

4) A mollusk, like a huge marine slug.

5) A species of fish eating reptiles that has been extinct for over 70 million years.


They also contemplate the possibility that a family of creatures were left stranded in what became Lochness at the end of last ice age. That was 10,000 to 15,000 years ago and the reasoning is this:

" As the icecap retreated, sea levels in the northern hemisphere must have been raised considerably by the melting ice. Numerous glens and valleys became flooded and were transformed into fiord,were swept along with the flood waters into the newly formed loch, where they have lived ever since, almost unnoticed."Eel or Slug,seal or plesiosaur,the Loch Ness Monster is not unique.Reports of similar creatures have come from other lochs.

Some of the descriptions that are being written in history are that it is about the size of an Indian elephant, about 30 feet long with 3-4 humps, about 20 feet long with snake like head and four legs.
