Loch Ness Monster

Tales of the giant Loch Ness Monster lurking deep below the waves of deep blue seas have been passed by successive generations of fishermen and sailors for ages. One of the most reliable sighting came in 1905 when two members of British fleet were traveling on the steamship off South America in the parts of Brazil. It was late in the evening and almost dark and the water was still according to their account. Those two men were Meado-Waldo and Michael Nicholl. Then suddenly they witness what first they thought to be a rock but then that "thing" started moving. Waldo later wrote "I looked and immediately saw a large fin or frill sticking out of the water, dark and seaweed-brown in color, somewhat crinkled at the edge.It as about 6 feet in length and projected from 18inches to 2 feet from the water. I could see under the water a body of considerable size. A great head and neck rose out of the water. The neck appeared about the thickness of a man's body. The head had a turtle like appearance. Later he said that he could not see the whole face as they were sailing quite fast but he remembers the 'thing' moved its head from side to side in a peculiar manner; the color of the head and neck was dark brown."

Valhalla Incident

According to the history books that Loch Ness monster seems to have made another appearance right after 24 hours according to some sources. Many people saw that since it was close to the shore. A person wrote "At first we thought it was a rock about 100 yards away but we soon mad out that it was something moving. One of the crew members thought to have said it could move at speeds of 9 knots. Although there was bright moon at the time, they could not make out anything of the creature itself. All the crew members agreed on the fact that it was like a submarine moving right past their ship. Most of them were terrified while watching the sea serpent. The Loch Ness monster disappeared after some minutes. John Lockhart author of the famous book "mysteries of the Sea" wrote " Most of the witnesses agree on certain outstanding features. Its a long serpentine creature,it has series of humps, its head is rather like a horse, its color is dark on top and light below,it moves my undulations up and down; and it appears during the summer months" But Lockhart also added Its harmless as it never attacked anybody"

The Valhalla account along with other sightings in the history matched on the fact that it was a long serpentine animal which snaked through the sea.

Aristotle's Account

In the 4th century BC Aristotle wrote of large serpents of Libya Mariners sailing along the coast have told how they have seen the bones of many oxen which,it was apparent to them, had been devoured by serpents, And as their ships sailed on, the serpents came to attack them throwing themselves on a trireme and capsizing it"
