2012 Prophecy

Introduction to the Phenomenon

The 2012 prophecy is a set of beliefs and ideas and according to them , cataclysmic events will occur on December 21, 2012 that would be friday aswell which according to muslims would be the day the world ends. This date is regarded as the end-date of the long cycle in the Mayan calendar. Various hypothesis have been explained and put to test but none has so far beaten the modern day's research which says it simply cannot happen too soon.

Another interpretation of this theory might be that on this day the world might undergo physical and spiritual changes, which might not be in the way of destruction but to something new, maybe a new beginning in some way.

But others still suggest that the 2012 date marks destruction or in other words End of the World. Scenarios that might happen include the coming of another solar maximum OR collision of earth with a black hole or with a planet called Nibiru

What is Planet Nibiru?

The Nibiru is a supposed collision between the Earth and a large planetary object which certain groups believe will take place in the early 21st century which is what 2012 prophecy is based upon. Believers on this cataclysmic event usually refer to this object as Planet X or Nibiru .

The idea that a planet-sized object could collide with Earth is however not supported by any scientific evidence and has been rejected as pseudoscience by astronomers and scientists.

Planet X or Nibiru is described as roughly four times the size of the Earth, and said that its closest approach would occur on December 21, 2012, resulting in the Earth's rotation ceasing for exactly 5.9 terrestrial days. This would be followed by the Earth's pole destabilising in a pole shift (a physical pole shift, with the Earth's pole physically moving, rather than a geomagnetic reversal) caused by magnetic attraction between the Earth's core and the magnetism of the passing planet. This in turn would disrupt the Earth's magnetic core and lead to subsequent displacement of the Earth's crust. If it collides then it will be indeed the end of times

Prophecy According to Islam

According to Islam there is no exact justification of the end of the world in 2012. It although states 6-7 points that are to be fulfilled before the end of times can take place.
